So what is Tenderchomps anyway?
Hi there! I’m Tim Lynch, a muralist, illustrator and designer based in Rochester, NY and the face behind Tenderchomps. After studying both studio art and engineering as an undergraduate, I spent the first decade of my career working in the optics and biomedical fields before returning to art as my full-time professional focus. I love combining my technical and creative backgrounds and problem solving skills to tackle unique creative challenges, and I’m especially inspired when I’m working with others to uncover their own unique visual identity.
I prioritize a collaborative approach to creating art, and love creating public art pieces with a deep personal connection to the local community. My use of bold stylized line work and vivid colors captures your attention, and a deliberate sense of motion guides your eye through the piece, leading you to discover additional details that you may have been overlooked at first glance. Each of my murals is specifically designed to complement its surroundings, and I love finding novel ways of integrating unique environmental elements into the composition of the piece. The playful and approachable nature of my work resonates with a wide-ranging audience and always sparks conversation amongst those viewing it!
As an artist, I was an Artist in Residence at the Yards Collective and chosen by the City of Rochester to lead a community mural project for their Public Art Equity initiative. I’ve had pieces selected for juried exhibitions at galleries including Luna Cooperative and the Joy Gallery, and my murals can found on the exterior of buildings around upstate NY as well as in numerous private residences and businesses.
When I'm not drawing, I enjoy music, skateboarding, woodworking, volunteering at the local animal shelter, and exploring the greater Rochester area with my wife (who also provides all of the social media strategy if you’re looking for some yourself) and our three rescue puggles!
Oh yeah, so about the name Tenderchomps? Learn all about it in this blog post!
